Hours: 13:00-19:00

YOD Gallery is pleased to present "Beyond Landscape," a solo exhibition by Kohei Fukushima.

Kohei Fukushima was born in Tokyo in 1989. He creates photographs of contemporary landscapes based on the technological evolution and environmental changes revealed by bugs that occur on the Internet. His works, which at first glance appear to be computer graphics or composites, highlight the heterogeneity of rapidly developing technology.

In this exhibition, the Maps series will be taking up the whole gallery space. Fukushima has been working on this series since 2014. It is based on the motif of map applications and captures the moments when delays or bugs they occur. 15 years have passed since its inception, and the evolution of these applications and the bugs that have transformed into various forms along with them are reflected in the changing times.

Fukushima believes that the collapse of existing landscapes due to technology is a landscape that can only be seen in the present age and that this group of photographs of everyday moments that can only be seen in the present age could become landscape photography in the modern age.

By exhibiting the Maps series, which he has been working on for the past eight years, from 2014 to 2022, we will be able to experience once again the evolution of technology that has become more integrated into our daily lives in recent years, and the new way landscape photography can be brought about by this evolution.

We hope you will take this opportunity to visit the exhibition.
